NEWS RELEASE: Bruce Makous Creates the Society for Philanthropy (TM)

A fundraiser and noted author from Philadelphia has created the Society for Philanthropy^TM, a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing donors with education about the various philanthropic methods.

"As I envision it," said Bruce Makous, founder and president of the Society for Philanthropy, "this new organization will become a coalition of philanthropists, charitable fundraisers, and donors' financial advisors dedicated to serving the interests of donors and the general public." The Society for Philanthropy will provide informational sessions for donors, as well as training for volunteers and professionals in ethical fundraising. 

"The Society will be directed towards the interests of donors," Makous continued. "This fills a need that is not met by other organizations. The goal will be to develop mutually beneficial relationships between donors and charities to ensure that donors realize their philanthropic goals."
